What can $1 do?
Every night in Australia 46,000 children can’t sleep in their own beds because they are at risk of being abused or neglected. In one-on-one therapeutic counselling, children are supported to understand the abuse was not their fault and they are worthy of love. Holding children in strong relationships, they come to trust their connection with caring people as a source of nurturing and comfort, not hurt and betrayal. Australian Childhood Foundation is a leading organisation, supporting children to recover from the trauma of abuse, neglect and family violence. The Foundation provides specialist support to help children heal and feel safe, while educating and empowering communities to safeguard children from abuse.

What can $1 do?
$50 plants enough trees and shrubs to store 1 tonne of carbon dioxide Since European settlement, over 90 million hectares of land across Australia has been cleared, threatening species and the productivity of farmlands. Climate change will only exacerbate the impact with reduced rainfall, increased temperatures, droughts and more frequent extreme weather events. Greening Australia aims to restore 330,000 hectares of native trees across Australia by 2030. Drawing on the expert input of Traditional Owners, scientists and local land managers, we will plant 500 million trees and shrubs to store carbon, create quality habitat for native wildlife, and restore degraded farmland. These 500 million trees and shrubs will absorb over 1.3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year by 2030, and reduce atmospheric carbon pollution. This is one of the world’s largest and most ambitious ecological restoration programs. Note: To ensure greatest impact, donations are sent to Greening Australia to support this and other related projects. This allows them to use their expertise to direct resources to be as effective as possible.

What can $1 do?
Foodbank is ready to support communities impacted by Cyclone Alfred and we are working with local authorities to get emergency food relief and supplies to affected areas. Foodbank will support these communities during the crisis phase and provide ongoing assistance during the weeks, months and years it can take to recover. Foodbank already provides food relief to over 1 million Australians per month. In 2024, Foodbank sourced the equivalent to 92 million meals (51 million Kgs). 3.4 million Australian households (32%) experienced some form of food insecurity at a point in the past 12 months. This means that they have, at the very least, reduced the quality, variety or desirability of their food and, at worst, gone entire days without eating. The face of hunger is changing in Australia - 1 in 5 median income households (earning >$95K per year) are food insecure. Foodbank continues to support everyday Australians who are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and those facing natural disasters. For every $1 donated, 2 meals are created.
